So.... the photographer for our wedding featured us on her blog a few days ago. I thought you all might like the link. The slideshow of our wedding day is pretty cool too.

Save the Date
Most of you got a Save the Date card earlier this year.
This earlier version, as well as the finalized version,
was photographed and designed by some friends of ours.

Gift Registry
Picking out china, crystal, silverware, towels, and cow-shaped ice cream scoops is a lot harder than it sounds, but we managed to register in style for stylish housewares.

Hotel Accommodations (Special Rate) - Smyrna
There was some difficulty obtaining blocks of rooms with promotional rates in Murfreesboro because Bonnaroo (a Woodstock-esque music festival) is the same weekend as our wedding. We were able to contract with two hotels a few minutes up I-24 in Smyrna (toward Nashville) for special rates. The dates by which you must book a room to take advantage of the special rate are listed below with the hotel. For those of you who are not familiar with the area - Smryna is approximately 10-15 minutes from Third Baptist Church and Stones River Country Club. However, if you prefer to stay in Murfreesboro, click here to go to that post.

The Fellows
I'm so excited to be getting married this coming June, and I'm honored to have my good friends standing beside me on that day. Having all these guys is really neat because each is a friend from a different point in time, so the line up reads as a progression through my life.
My brother Gabe will be my best man. I was a groomsman in Gabe and Rebecca's wedding.
Mike and I have been friends since fifth grade. We graduated high school together, went to college together, med school together, worked together a little bit during residency, and we may get to work together again if Rachel and I stay in Arkadelphia after the wedding. I was the best man at Mike and Melissa's wedding.
Bryan and I were college roommates at Ouachita Baptist University. He's "the nicest guy in the world" and a great friend. I read scripture during Bryan and Dara's wedding ceremony.
Daniel and I were friends in college and medical school. We spent a lot of time together studying. I was an usher in Daniel and Mev's wedding. He will be reading scripture during our wedding ceremony.
Deputy U.S. Marshal Marty and I have been friends since his wife (Misty Leigh) and I were "W's" together in medical school. I read scripture during their wedding ceremony (something about wives obeying their husbands). We've traveled together to Hawaii, Florida, and Costa Rica. Their daughter Mary Ford will be the flower girl in our wedding ceremony.
Patrick and I became friends after I moved to Tennessee. He taught our Sunday School Class. He and Monica are wonderful people, and they always "leave the light on" for me when I visit Rachel in Murfreesboro. Their son Patton will be our ring bearer.
Donnie and I became friends after he and his wife Lori moved back to Arkadelphia in 2007. We lead a small group together at our church. Also, Lori will be one of the readers during our wedding ceremony.
The youngest groomsman is my nephew Tyler.

My Girls
I'm super excited to be getting married in June. I have to say, I have a large bridal party. I'm sure it's not as large as some, but it's more than I had originally anticipated. However, each of these ladies mean so much to me, and I love them dearly.
This is Kim. She is one of my Matrons of Honor. Yes, I have, two! :) We've known each other for quite some time - from back when we worked retail together! She's absolutely amazing, and I don't know what I would do without her. Not only does she make me look good, because she does my hair, she's made me a better person.
This is LeeAnna. She & I worked together at Vanderbilt Children's Pediatric Emergency Department. I love this girl dearly - I consider her a sister - like she doesn't have enough already! This young lady has such a wonderful, compassionate heart to serve those around her!
This is Joy, a friend of mine and Aaron's. We go to church together. She and I met at a Murder Mystery Dinner (that our Sunday School class was having) - @ the Lile's, where I was wearing a wedding dress (and I wasn't feeling good). She's a dear friend to me, and I'm happy that she's a part of my real wedding.
This is Kaitlin, sister of Aaron. She is a beautiful young woman, and I'm so excited to be getting a sister.
Here are Megan & Taylor, daughters of Steve and Melissa. Steve is officiating the service, and Melissa is one our readers. I love these girls so much - it's so wonderful to see them grow into beautiful young ladies!

This is Ashley. She's my other Matron of Honor. She and I have known each other several years. We worked together in the Vanderbilt Burn Center & Camp Hope. I had the privilege of being the Maid of Honor at her wedding in September, and I'm grateful that she will be in mine. Love you!
This is Tanya. We met in Massage Therapy School and hit it off right from the start. She and I have lots of memories together. We've been there for each other on many occasions - some of the best were the births of her three children!

About The Happy Couple
Rachel Nickens, daughter of Marcus & Bernice Nickens, was born and raised in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She attended John Price Buchanan School and Riverdale High School. Rachel attended college at Middle Tennessee State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After graduating, she worked at the Vanderbilt Burn Center until September 2006. She currently works at the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, Pediatric Emergency Department.
Aaron Ward, son of Ray and Tricia Ward, grew up in Texarkana, Arkansas. He received his Bachelor's degree in Biology from Ouachita Baptist University. He completed his medical degree at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences; he stayed in Little Rock, Arkansas, for his pediatric internship and residency at Arkansas Children's Hospital. He met Rachel after moving to Tennessee to work at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic. In 2007 he moved to Arkadelphia, in rural southwest Arkansas, to join a small pediatric practice.
